Capital Project Description: In the fall of 2019 the Division of Solid Waste Management and Recycling (DSWR) was split from the former Division of Utilities and Solid Waste Management (DUSWM). As this transition is ongoing a number of critical positions that were served in some part via the former DUSWM have been identified as new positions in DSWR. These are considered critical transitional needs. However, the new Divisions office space/administrative building did not anticipate these needs and was essentially built in 1997 for the needs of that time only. The Division is addressing this workspace issue with a CIP project to study the best options to address these long terms needs and future plans. However, this study and any eventual construction will not help with the immediate needs. Therefore, the Division has met with the County's CAO & CFO and discussed plans for a small 4-5 office space expansion of the existing administrative building to meet the more immediate and interim needs until the long terms plans are in place. This is anticipated to be a design/build project and adds onto the from the building and reconfigures what is believe to be a non-load bearing wall.
