Capital Project Description: To meet the demands resulting from the growth and development in Frederick County, the Sheriff ’ s Office is requesting a district station be built in the Urbana, New Market/Linganore and Green Valley area. Districting law enforcement services within Frederick County can lead to lower response times, deputies ’ familiarization with their assigned area, more efficient utilization of personnel, equalized distribution of workload, uniform police visibility, enhanced officer safety, balanced police response to calls and personnel accountability. The conceptual design is for a single-story facility consisting of approximately 10,000 square feet on 3 – 4 acres. The designated location will need to accommodate two parking lots, one for approximately 25 public parking spaces and a second secured parking lot for approximately 25 law enforcement vehicles. The facility will need to be located in an area that is easily accessible to the public while also providing the capacity for expedited emergency response.
