Capital Project Description: Green Valley ES is a 50 year old building. There have been no significant renovations to this open space building, other than occasional systemic projects. The school currently serves grades K-5 and is operating at 166% of SRC. The Board of Education approved the recommendation to replace the school on a nearby site in the Landsdale community on Ed McLain Rd and Monrovia Boulevard utilizing the current elementary school prototype design. The new approximately 86,000 sq. ft building will have a State Rated Capacity of approximately 725. The state funding for this project will come from Built to Learn funds designated for Frederick County through legislation. A MOU between the Maryland Stadium Authority, the Board of Education, and Frederick County Government outlines the timing of funding. The school is expected to open for students in the fall of 2025.
