Capital Project Description: A new elementary school is needed to serve the new residential subdivisions on the east side of Frederick City, as well as the growing communities located in the County along I-70 east of Frederick City. A school site for elementary school #41 was identified in the Greenview PUD, located on Mussetter Rd. and Whiterose Dr. just north of Rt 144 and I-70, and approved by the BOE and State Interagency Commission on School Construction (IAC). It is anticipated that the new school will have a SRC over 800 and utilize aspects of urban design to help balance enrollments at schools located on the East side of Frederick City, such as, Blue Heron ES (103%) and Oakdale ES (160%) as well as the additional growth expected in the City that feeds into Spring Ridge ES (93%) and Parkway ES (107%). School #41 does not have State IAC planning approval.
