Capital Project Description: The primary areas of the existing Animal Control facility were built in 1978. Four additions — a Puppy Room, Sick Cat Room, Education Room, and New Dog side---were built in 1993. Since 2005, four renovations have taken place to repurpose existing space and resurface existing flooring. While renovations have been helpful in maintaining basic functionality of the building, it is not deterring the natural aging process and breakdown of animal housing units, doorways/frames, and other basics of an animal shelter as a result of normal wear-and-tear. This project would provide additional space for employees and animals. The existing facility would also be renovated, and infrastructure components would be replaced.
