Capital Project Description: A new elementary school is needed to serve the new residential subdivisions on the east side of Frederick City, as well as the growing communities located in the County along I-70 east of Frederick City. A school site for the Eastern County Area ES has not been identified; purchasing a site is a critical need. Design of the school will utilize the current elementary school prototype design and have a state rated capacity (SRC) of 725. It is anticipated that the new school will primarily help balance enrollments at schools located on the East side of Frederick City, such as, Blue Heron ES (100%) and Oakdale ES (144%)as well as the additional growth expected in the City that feeds into Spring Ridge ES (94%) and Parkway ES (109%).
