Capital Project Description: The Plant Operations building, originally constructed in 1995 with an addition in 2003, is approximately 6,100 Sf and houses work bays with overhead coiling doors and office space for Plant Operations staff. The building is in fair condition. Due to its age, the interior finishes and some building infrastructure are beyond useful life and require replacement. The facility is lacking in staff space, grounds storage, and maintenance work areas. In addition to this, the College lacks a sufficient loading dock and receiving area and there is no warehouse storage for stocked materials, or surplus storage. The current location of the Plant Operations Building is in the core of the campus and hinders the expansion of the Wellness, Athletics and Health Sciences programs. Strategically, a Plant Operations, Receiving, and Warehousing facility should be located outside the academic core to accommodate the future growth of the student-focused core campus functions. The project timeline will be established as part of the College ten-year Facilities Master Plan update in spring 2023.
