Division of Family Services
Division of Family Services Building a Better Community Together
The Division of Family Services leverages community collaboration, government resources and citizen/partner advisement to support children, youth, and families in Frederick County. With a focus on collective impact, the division coordinates delivery of direct family services, grant funding to non-profit organizations focused on critical family needs and sheltering services during weather related and mass casualty emergencies. Using a health and racial equity focus, the division aligns program priorities with community data and reports to inform decision making. Using evidence-based practices, the division delivers and coordinates programming that prioritizes marginalized vulnerable populations. In addition, the division oversees the Frederick County Commission for Women and the Local Management Board as appointed by the County Executive. Division Priorities: Leadership The Division is positioning itself to be a leader in the delivery of community services and resources to meet the needs of County residents. Collaboration The Division will succeed by expanding and strengthening collaborations within and between its departments and externally with its community partners. Reinvestment Limited fiscal resources will be optimized for community reinvestment to best meet client/customer needs for service.
Family Partnership Mission Statement
To support and empower children, youth and families with the knowledge and skills needed to meet basic needs, to successfully navigate life's challenges and to advance their hopes and dreams. The future success of Frederick County families depends on our ability to foster the health and well-being of our children. At Family Partnership, we create solid foundations for children, youth, and families. The Family Partnership Support Center is a one-stop shop providing multi generational programs including nurturing support, educational/career developmentopportunitiesandotherrelatedservices. FamilyPartnership also provides similar programs and activities for youth aged 16-24.
