Capital Project Description: A new elementary school is needed to serve the new residential subdivisions on the east side of Frederick City as well as the growing communities located in the County along I-70 east of Frederick City. Design of the school will utilize the current elementary school prototype design and have a state rated capacity (SRC) of 705. It is anticipated that the new school will primarily help balance enrollments at schools located on the East side of Frederick City, such as Spring Ridge ES (currently operating at 83% of SRC), Blue Heron ES (112%), and Oakdale ES (149%). The new school site has not been identified, as several sites are currently being evaluated.
