Division of Transit Services
Division of Transit Services Transit Services provides a critical service to residents and visitors of Frederick County, with nearly 700,000 trips provided in FY23. Scheduled service is offered on ten Connector Routes, operating in the City of Frederick and Walkersville, and seven Shuttles operating throughout the County and connecting to rural communities. Transit plus provides demand-response paratransit service for older adults and people with disabilities countywide. All Connector Routes operate Monday Friday 5:30 AM until approximately 9:45 PM and seven provide additional service on Saturdays from 7:30 AM - 9:45 PM. Connector routes operate on a regular schedule, and most can deviate within a 3/4 mile range for passengers who are unable to
board at the stop location because of a disability. Shuttle routes operate weekdays with select service on Saturday between Frederick and Emmitsburg/Thurmont, Brunswick/Jefferson, the Point of Rocks MARC station, East Frederick, North Frederick, downtown MARC station, and the Route 85 business corridor. Strategic Goals Improve transit access and ridership through progressive increases in service, span, and frequency to make transit an attractive and usable alternative to driving alone, culminating in an essential public service that provides connections to life’s opportunities throughout the County. Have a continued focus on community outreach and promote Travel Training to increase Transit awareness and ridership numbers.
