Office of Equity & Inclusion Mission Statement Ensure that the Frederick County Government prioritizes, institutes, invests in, demonstrates, and sustains a systemic commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB). The Office of Equity & Inclusion leads Frederick County Government’s ongoing commitment to be an inclusive employer with a diverse workforce that centers equity in all of its efforts and ensures that the County Government invests in eliminating disparities for the County’s historically marginalized populations. Vision We envision a Frederick County that is recognized as one of the most inclusive communities in the region, and is a place where: • Each of us is equally valued for the humanity that we share, and we recognize that our destinies are inextricably intertwined • Everyone is continually growing to become more culturally competent, as each of us thoughtfully examines our own culture, and as we actively engage with one another with civility and respect to work through our differences • We learn from our past, and we work collectively to ensure that those who have been historically oppressed are provided with opportunities for success and positioned to maintain their dignity and self-respect without Opposition Departmental Strategic Goals • Establish the Office of Equity and Inclusion as the hub for all matters related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging; leading the charge of providing informed education, inclusive expertise, sharing current best practices, and ongoing training for FCG’s workforce in partnership with the Department of Human Resources • Create a FCG culture of inclusion and belonging • Utilize data to inform the County’s DEIB efforts, while applying an equity lens to policies and decisions

The Commission for Women The mission is to create a stronger community by addressing challenges and fostering unlimited opportunities for all women. The commission hosts events to support and raise women awareness.
