Parks Acquisition/Development

Parks Acquisition/Development This fund records the collections of recordation taxes dedicated to the acquisition and development of recreational and open space land. Funds are then transferred to the Capital Projects Fund or the Debt Service Fund to assist in this goal. A portion of the County's recordation tax revenue is dedicated for use in funding the County's acquisition and development of recreational and open space land. With a change effective October 1, 2020, the portion of recordation tax dedicated to this fund went from 12.5% to 10.71%, but it did not have an effect on the overall revenue dedicated to this fund. Budget Highlights Other Financing Uses is significantly higher in the FY26 budget as the transfer to the capital budget for specific projects is higher. The FY26 funding will be used towards the Bikeways/Trail program, Parks Acquisition and Othello Park, Phase II. Additional detail is available in the Capital Improvement Program documents.
