Capital Project Description: Waverley Elementary School has a state rated capacity (SRC) of 416 and is operating at 145% of SRC with 17 portable classrooms. The Board of Education approved a recommendation to replace the school with a much larger facility with an SRC of 1019. The new school will be located on the existing site, utilizing a portion of the Rock Creek School site once a new Rock Creek School is constructed and operational on the Walkersville MS site. The new Waverley Elementary School will have students in grades PreK-5 and will include space to provide additional student support services, such as reading and math intervention and English Language programs. Construction is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2020, with the school being open for students by August of 2022.
